The GMO Free Project of Tucson, a project of NEST, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization, is an educational group that raises awareness in the Tucson Community about GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in our food supply and educates people about steps they can take to become GMO free.
The GMO Free Project of Tucson does not advocate one type of diet for everyone. We honor the fact that each of us is biochemically unique and respect that we may require different diets for our best health.
GMOs affect us all and the future of our food for everyone, no matter what type of diet we eat. The only thing we strongly advocate is Non-GMO pure food for everyone, no matter what type of food we choose to eat. We encourage people to avoid pesticides, chemicals, and trans-fats, and to buy local (when possible), organic, sustainable food and ingredients according to the particular diet that best suits each person’s health and wellness needs.
Our goal is to educate and raise the awareness to get more people to go GMO-Free and know that you can eat Non-GMO regardless of the type of diet you eat, if you are a savvy Non-GMO consumer.
What unites us is the desire to avoid these untested organisms that should have never been allowed in our food and to work together to get them out of our food supply to protect the integrity of our seeds, our food system, and our environment to maintain a healthy and sustainable planet for us and future generations. To do that, we need a consumer revolution with all of us, each of us respecting whatever type of diet others eat, working together.
