Himmel Park Library
1035 N. Treat Avenue, Tucson, AZ
Watch two movies about GMOs for free, sample a few non-GMO snacks, and get a packet of non-GMO food at a special event that our group is doing at Himmel Park Library from 1:45 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012.
Himmel Park Library, one of the branches of the new Seed Library program (for checking out seeds to grow on your own), is located at 1035 N. Treat Avenue, three blocks east of Tucson Blvd. and one block south of Speedway, in the northeast corner of Himmel Park.
If you can’t attend the whole event, by all means come for whatever part of it you can make. Or if you have already seen one of the movies, consider watching the movie again to pick up information you might have missed the first time, or bring friends or family members who haven’t seen it yet.
Here’s the schedule that day:
2:00 p.m.: “Deconstructing Supper” movie begins – a 48-min. film about a chef’s journey to learn about Genetically Modified Foods and the benefits of local, sustainable farming
3:00 p.m.: “Hidden Dangers in Kids’ Meals” film starts – a 28-min. film that summarizes the adverse health effects of GMOs in animals and scientists’ warnings about GMOs
3:30 p.m.: Short explanation of how to avoid GMOs, a Q&A session, non-GMO chips to sample, & free packets of non-GMO rice handed out (while supplies last)
See you at the movies!
